On a very basic level, turbo engines perform at their best when they are allowed all the intake air they can handle and having an unrestricted means of releasing the spent gas fumes on the other end. The effectiveness of a turbo is largely based upon its ability to take in and release air as quickly as possible. If there are restricted airways to and from the turbo, the performance potential that can be delivered by the engine will be significantly limited. The Raceland Down Pipes improve the exhaust side of the equation and improves engine and turbo performance. With the Down Pipes larger, less restrictive size, more exhaust gas is pushed away from the turbo, creating less turbo lag and increasing horsepower output.
